Advisor, Co-Ordinator, Assistant
One of the UK's leading providers of industrial forecourt equipment is seeking a dedicated individual to join their Health & Safety team.
Job Purpose:
The role involves planning, implementing, and overseeing the company's employee safety programs, fostering a safety-first culture across all levels.
Ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety Legislation and guidelines by coordinating safety activities and building relationships at all organizational levels.
Collaborating with stakeholders to produce or update health and safety documentation, maintaining key relationships with senior management.
Responsibilities:
Group Health and Safety:
- Maintain and improve the Health and Safety System, generate reports, and assign corrective actions to ensure compliance.
- Update and maintain the corrective action log, analyze trends in non-conformities, and report findings.
- Manage the risk assessment database and follow up with site managers as needed.
- Conduct inductions and onboard new employees regarding training and safe working practices, maintaining records.
- Administer the hazard reporting system, follow up on corrective actions, and analyze non-conformities.
- Organize, attend, and record minutes for all Health and Safety Committee Meetings.
- Perform regular site safety walkarounds and inspections, involving line managers and sharing findings with relevant departments.
- Manage PPE stock levels, create purchase orders, and liaise with suppliers.
- Ensure completion of actions from all H&S audits, both internal and external.
- Maintain third-party accreditations and certifications, including BS EN ISO 14001, BS EN ISO 45001, and BS EN ISO 50001.
- Build strong relationships with management to become a trusted safety partner.
- Support management in developing safety strategies and implementing changes.
- Distribute, review, and monitor all staff DSE Assessments, ensuring timely completion and appropriate control measures.
- Collaborate with external consultants to support safe operational procedures considering all hazards.
- Manage online e-learning platforms with HR and maintain the Company Training Matrix.
- Arrange and deliver health and safety training courses and inductions for new staff.
- Maintain records of inspections, risk assessments, safety analyses, training, incidents, and accidents, producing relevant reports and statistics.
- Prepare regular safety reports for the board, highlighting key safety metrics.
- Prequalify subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining the prequalification matrix.
- Conduct weekly fire safety checks, maintain fire safety records, and coordinate annual fire evacuations.
- Maintain memberships of safety organizations such as CHAS, Safe Contractor, and others, and complete client prequalification questionnaires.
- Coordinate and maintain registers of PPM, statutory inspections, and calibration activities.
