Job summary

Abri is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our H&S team on a part-time basis. The role is 24–27 hours per week, with pattern discussed at interview, ideal for someone seeking school-time hours or a reduced week.

You will deliver expert health, safety and environmental guidance to trade operatives and asset teams, embedding a positive safety culture, conducting inspections, and supporting incident investigations across a multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National General Certificate and NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalents) are required.
• Experience advising on health, safety and environmental matters in multi-site environments is preferred.
• Ability to coach leaders and deliver toolbox talks to diverse teams.

Job description

We’re looking for a proactive and knowledgeable part‑time Health & Safety Advisor to join our H&S (Asset, Construction & Environment) team. The role is 24 – 27 hours per week depending on shift pattern and would suit a qualified advisor looking for school time hours or a reduced working week. Exact working pattern and number of hours will be agreed at interview.

In this role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor, providing expert health, safety and environmental guidance to our trade operative teams and asset department, helping embed a positive and proactive safety culture.

You’ll work closely with managers and operational teams, building strong relationships and ensuring health and safety is fully integrated into day‑to‑day activities. From delivering toolbox talks to coaching leaders, you’ll influence behaviours, support change and make safety accessible, practical and effective.

A key part of the role is ensuring compliance with health, safety, construction and environmental legislation. You’ll carry out inspections and audits, investigate incidents, support RIDDOR reporting where required, and liaise with external bodies such as the HSE, Local Authorities and Fire & Rescue Services.

You’ll also play a vital role in designing and promoting health, safety and environmental initiatives, developing resources, and advising on risk assessment and control measures. Working with contractors and internal teams, you’ll help manage risk, improve performance and maintain high standards across a diverse, multi‑site environment.

We’re seeking someone with a NEBOSH National General Certificate and NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalents), strong legislative knowledge, and experience in a similar advisory role.
