About the role

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Assurance Manager to join our Power Transmission and Distribution Team in Scotland.

The HSW Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring our Power projects across Scotland comply with HSW procedures and ISO 45001 standards.

This role requires frequent travel across Scotland to various Power T&D Projects. A company car or car allowance will be provided.

What you'll be doing

• Ensuring project compliance with procedures and ISO 45001
• Implementing targeted monitoring programs and supporting project teams in using the BMS confidently
• Establishing a digital platform for managing actions from monitoring, investigations, audits, and reviews
• Monitoring the closure of observations, inspection actions, and incident actions within set timeframes
• Conducting digitally based, risk-based, independent HSW audits to verify the effectiveness of risk-control systems
• Sharing learnings and contributing to continuous improvement in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing
• Supporting the implementation and enhancement of the BB BMS
• Ensuring projects align with the UK PT&D HS&W strategy
• Engaging with Supply Chain Partners on various HSW processes including contractor selection, competence, onboarding, compliance, and engagement activities

Who we're looking for

Required Skills/Experience:

• 45001 or 9001 audit training or extensive auditing experience
• Knowledge of ISO 45001
• Construction industry experience
• IOSH certification in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing
• Line management experience
• Willingness to travel and hold a full UK driving license
