Job description

HSE Officer, A&P Tyne

We have the largest commercial dry-dock on the East coast of England, along with a fabrication facility equipped with panel line, rolling, plasma, and gas burning machines.

As part of our commitment to excellence and safety in our high-risk environment, we are seeking an HSE Officer to support and maintain our teams' awareness of health and safety risks related to training, behaviors, and equipment.

A&P's top priority is to safeguard the safety and wellbeing of our staff, customers, and sub-contractors. Our 'Work Safe, Home Safe' (WSHS) initiative embodies the core values that underpin our safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work across all safety principles and standards, including training in new areas.
  2. Ensure safety culture through our safety process program, aiming for all personnel to return home safe and healthy each day.
  3. Monitor compliance with health, safety & environmental regulations and A&P procedures.
  4. Report and record health, safety, environmental, and quality performance; investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, and recommend corrective actions.
  5. Assist with risk assessments, safe systems of work, and provide safety advice to management and teams.
  6. Review project requirements and their impact on safety advice, maintaining compliance with legislation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a HSEQ role with good knowledge of best practices.
