A leading marine and structural engineering company seeks an HSE Officer to enhance safety awareness and management across operations. HSE Officer, A&P Tyne
We have the largest commercial dry-dock on the East coast of England as well as a Fabrication facility complete with panel line, rolling, plasma and gas burning machines.
As part of our commitment to excellence and safety in our high risk environment, we are looking for another HSE Officer to support and maintain our team’s awareness of the Health and Safety risks that we need to manage in relation to training, behaviours and equipment.

So, what will you do?
It’s a varied role where you’ll get the chance to work across all safety principles and standards, training in those areas you’ve not experienced previously
We work within a heavy industry so you’ll play a great part in ensuring that through our safety culture process program, we all return home safe and healthy at the end of every working day
You’ll monitor conformance with health, safety & environmental regulations as well as A&P procedures
Reporting and recording health, safety, environmental and quality performance, you’ll also carry out or assist others in the investigation, reporting and recommend action on accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances to drive positive change and improvements
As part of our shared values with a focus on responsibility and sustainability practices you will carry out, and assist others with, risk assessments and safe systems of work as well as provide advice on health, safety, environmental and quality matters to line management and the wider team
You’ll review project requirements, and the impact on advice you give while maintaining legislation in a professional, competent manner with colleagues, customers and contractors

These restrictions mean that factors including your nationality, any previous nationalities you have held, and your place of birth may limit those roles you can perform with us.
You must also undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check before your employment starts, which will include a basic DBS check.
