Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Alternative Heat Head Office

Reporting To: 25AH224

Description

The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader within the energy saving/per fabrication sector as a Health, Safety & Environmental Officer (HSE).

Alternative Heat is a market leader in the design, supply, and installation of off-site prefabricated solutions for the commercial Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) sectors across Ireland and the UK. Through continuous investment in our people, facilities, and technologies, we have experienced sustained growth and have firmly established ourselves as a trusted innovator in off-site prefabrication.

As part of our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a proactive and driven HSE Officer to support our manufacturing/assembly, warehouses & offices. This is a permanent position and an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to grow their career within a dynamic and progressive organisation.

The HSE Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This role involves monitoring regulatory compliance, minimizing workplace hazards, promoting a culture of safety, and ensuring environmental standards are met or exceeded.

The candidate will collaborate closely with our in-house teams, throughout client engagement and all stages of construction to develop and deliver effective HSE management arrangements. These arrangements will ensure compliance with both client-specific and legal requirements, guaranteeing the safe on-site fabrication and assembly of prefabricated solutions.

Beyond maintaining existing standards, the candidate will be expected to drive continuous improvement through both established best practices and innovative approaches, with a strong emphasis on behavioral safety.

Leading by example, the candidate will foster a robust safety culture within the team and across all projects, inspiring commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence.

The HSE Officer will establish strong relationships through regular site visits, providing dedicated support and expert guidance on all HSE matters.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the HSE Officer will work closely with project delivery teams, client representatives, and the wider HSE department to ensure a safe, compliant, and sustainable operating environment within this rapidly growing sector.

A key strength is the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, promoting a proactive safety culture. The role requires a strategic mindset to ensure HSE principles are integrated into operational planning and project delivery.
