About The Role
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a solid understanding of the construction and housebuilding industry, along with up-to-date knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation. A commitment to ongoing professional development is essential, particularly in maintaining current legislative awareness and best practice in health, safety, and environmental standards.
You should already hold, or be working towards, a relevant CSCS competence card. Strong presentation skills, coupled with the ability to influence and communicate persuasively across a range of stakeholders, will be key to promoting a proactive safety culture.
The role involves conducting monthly scored audits, periodic inspections, and incident investigations across our operational business divisions - Chartway Civil Engineering, Chartway Drylining, and Chartway Building Supplies - in line with the company’s Common Visual Standards. You will also oversee periodic inspections and provide support to a number of offices and yards. You'll also be supporting on behavioural change initiatives to help drive new ways of working.

Most importantly, you’ll care about doing things the right way for your colleagues, the business, and the communities we work in.
Strong communication skills, experience working with integrated management systems, and involvement in policy development, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe systems of work are also valuable. Relationship management is another key aspect of the role.
