Job summary

TDK-Lambda UK is seeking aHealth, Safety & Environmental Officer to support the HSE Manager in driving a safer, more sustainable culture across the business. You will advise on legislation, administer HSE data, and assist in achieving ISO 45001/14001 certifications.

The role requires NEBOSH certification (or working towards) and an environmental qualification, with a focus on continual improvement and engagement across all levels of the organisation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Statutory Health, Safety & Environmental regulations and experience in manufacturing/engineering businesses would be advantageous.
• Experience in a similar role and/or industry is preferable.
• Strong Excel competence and written reporting skills.
• NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, working towards or equivalent.
• Recognised Environmental qualification appropriate to the role (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Develop a positive and engaging Health and Safety culture with the HSE Manager and Leaders at all levels.
• Advise on Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities and best practices.
• Maintain and share information and opportunities with peers.
• Support colleagues in resolving problems across the organisation.
• Assist with administration of HSE databases, dashboards and reporting.
• Ensure statutory compliance monitoring and reporting for Health, Safety & Environment.
• Support ISO 45001 & 14001 certifications and audits.
• Contribute to continual improvement of health, safety and environmental culture.
• Monitor targets and support ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Assist Health & Safety Committee in driving best practices and employee engagement.
• Collaborate with HR on Occupational Health processes.

The successful applicant will support the HSE Manager to ensure compliance and support the company in driving a positive culture, and support Leaders at all levels of the organisation by using best practice to improve safety, wellbeing and environmental impact across the business.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role are :

• Work with the HSE Manager and Leaders at all levels of the business to develop a positive and engaging Health and Safety culture.
• To work with stakeholders at all levels to advise on Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities, legislation and best practice.
• Be an active and collaborative member of the team by openly sharing information, challenges, and opportunities with peers.
• Proactively engage and support colleagues in resolving problems in all areas of the organisation.
• Actively seek support from your peers to help resolve challenges when appropriate.
• General Administration, updating and tracking of all internal and external HSE databases, dashboards and spreadsheets.
• Ensure statutory compliance monitoring, reporting and administration obligations in Health Safety & Environmental are met.
• Administration of ISO 45001 & 14001 certifications and supporting internal & external auditing.
• Support the business in cultural continual improvement strategy and development of a positive health, safety and environmental culture.
• Monitor and report key Targets and Objective and support a continuous improvement programme.
• Support the Health & Safety Committee to drive best practices and employee engagement.
• Administration of the Occupational Health function and process in collaboration with HR.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

Working week:

37.5 hours per week

Mon to Thu 7.30 - 16.30 (45-minute lunchbreak)

Fri 7.30 – 12.00 – Flexitime would be applicable

Salary:

Up to £35k, dependent on experience.
