Job description

Dams is one of the UK's leading manufacturers and suppliers of office furniture, employing over 350 people from our sites in Knowsley.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Health, Safety, Environmental, Sustainability and Compliance Coordinator.

Job Overview

Reporting into the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, you will support the company in fulfilling its responsibilities related to health, safety, environment, and CSR, including product sustainability and Net Zero goals. You will assist in maintaining ISO 45001 and 14001 certifications through effective processes, communication, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the departmental manager and ensure the company's health and safety policy is implemented
  • Maintain compliance with statutory requirements such as RIDDOR, LOLER, PUWER, COSHH
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications
  • Work with stakeholders to promote environmentally friendly practices
  • Support systems for Environmental Product Declarations
  • Assist with external audits for FSC, FISP, and Net Zero targets
  • Help maintain Net Zero and sustainability KPIs
  • Maintain a database of Scope 1, 2, and 3 CO2 emissions
  • Support the sales team with sustainability information
  • Gather evidence and suggest improvements for CSR reporting
Experience & Knowledge Required
  • Working knowledge of ISO management systems and document control
  • Experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Deep understanding of sustainability practices
  • Knowledge of social and environmental responsibilities in supply chains
  • Experience with chain of custody, traceability, and regulations for fabric and wood materials (preferred)
  • ISO 14001 implementation experience (preferred)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Strong report writing skills
  • High-level IT proficiency
