Health, Safety and Building Safety Advisor
Location: Manchester
Salary: Circa £45,000 plus Benefits

Irwin and Colton have been engaged by one of the UK's largest real estate organisations to identify a new Health, Safety and Building Safety Advisor. The organisation has a multibillion-pound turnover and specialises in a wide variety of commercial and residential property. This role will be working across their residential portfolio within Manchester, reporting into the Building Safety and Fire Safety Lead.

The responsibilities of the Health, Safety and Building Safety Advisor will include:

  • Assist with Building Safety Cases and Gateway applications for planning, preconstruction, and completion stages
  • Develop Safety Cases required by the Building Safety Act 2022 for buildings where the company has been appointed Accountable Person
  • Support managing the Golden Thread of Information and other building safety data required to support a building's Safety Case
  • Coordinate and cooperate with the Resident Engagement Team on Building Assessment Certificate applications
  • Undertake audits of Higher Risk buildings to ensure Safety Case principles are being applied
  • Assist the Fire Safety Manager maintain effective scrutiny of the building safety regime

The successful Health, Safety and Building Safety Advisor will have:

  • NEBOSH general certificate (or equivalent) and membership of IOSH
  • Proven experience in health and safety within a residential real estate environment (property management / building surveying / housing)
  • Knowledge of Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and related legislation
  • Experience within safety management systems (BS 9997)
