Job Introduction

Are you passionate about health and safety and ready to make a real impact? This is an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join the Card Factory team at our Printcraft manufacturing site in Baildon, West Yorkshire.

We benefit from our own large-scale Printcraft print facility, which can produce 270 million cards per annum, with new ranges produced regularly. As the on-site health and safety contact, you’ll play a key role in driving our safety culture forward. With a clear H&S strategy plan, an internal compliance programme, and a new safety management system already in place, you’ll be joining at a pivotal time to help shape and deliver meaningful change.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Compliance & Auditing
  • Conduct internal audits and accident investigations, tracking improvements and celebrating success
  • Monitor safety data and trends, providing coaching and support
  • Maintain legal compliance documentation and support third-party inspections
  • Collaborate with Property and Fulfilment teams on asset and audit management
  • Complete accident investigations and follow up on near misses and incidents
  • Monitor data and identify trends, providing additional support and coaching where necessary
  • Create, maintain, and manage Health and Safety Policy Requirements on site in line with Card Factory Group Standards
  • Represent Card Factory professionally when meeting with external stakeholders relating to H&S (e.g., Claims Inspectors/Auditors), organizing completion of remedial actions as required
  • Training & Engagement
    • Deliver competent H&S advice
    • Run Health and Safety Meetings for both shop floor and senior management
    • Lead toolbox talks and manage the Safety Management System (HSMS)
    • Develop and maintain Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) using our LMS platform
    • Ensure through coaching and education that the Printcraft site and colleagues follow Group H&S Policies and Procedures
  • Policy & Legislative Adherence
    • Support policy development and ensure alignment with group standards
    • Monitor performance indicators and contribute to board-level reporting
    • Assist in managing incident investigations and risk mitigation strategies
    The Ideal Candidate
    • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (minimum requirement)
    • Experience managing Health & Safety Management Software
    • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to simplify complex issues
    • Excellent time management and self-organisation
    • A can-do attitude, with a pragmatic, trustworthy, and approachable nature
