Job summary

The University of Nottingham seeks an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to drive continuous improvement across all university areas. You will provide practical safety guidance, undertake inspections and audits, and report on actions to enhance safety standards.

A hybrid working arrangement is offered with potential for professional development and a strong safety culture. The role requires NEBOSH qualifications (Diploma preferred) and a proven record in applying health and safety legislation.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration at all levels.
• Experience in auditing and inspecting in complex environments.
• Excellent IT skills and data/reporting ability.
• Proven track record of implementing Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
• NEBOSH Diploma or working towards, with willingness to undertake further qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent health & safety advice and support.
• Undertake inspections, audits and reviews of units to ensure legal compliance and policy adherence.
• Produce reports and action plans to improve safety across the university.
• Build partnerships with stakeholders to foster a collaborative safety culture.
• Lead investigations and support training and communications on safety matters.
