Responsibilities

• As Health and Safety Advisor, you will take the lead of health and safety related practices across the organisation.
• You will have an understanding of health and safety within a healthcare setting.
• You will encourage a positive health and safety culture across the organisation.
• Have the ability to write and review documents including policies and procedures.
• You will investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending improvements.
• Support managers with risk assessments, care environment safety plans and safe systems of work.
• Liaise with external regulators such as the HSE and CQC when required.
• Have the attention to detail and the ability to deliver instruction and training, where required.

What We’re Looking For

• The ability to interpret and apply legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated regulations.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
• Experience of co-ordinating multiple tasks at the same time, including accurate recording of task progress.
• Ability to write and deliver reports to the Quality Board Committee.
• Using Microsoft applications, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
• Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends and proactively manage risk.
• Health & Safety qualification, e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH (desirable).
