Job summary

Logical Personnel Solutions is recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor to support a groundworks and civil engineering contractor on projects around Manchester/Stockport. The role is hands-on and requires regular site visits to uphold high safety standards.

You will conduct site inspections and safety audits, assist with RAMS and toolbox talks, investigate incidents and ensure compliance with current legislation. A NEBOSH qualification is preferred.

Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Manchester/Stockport

Salary: £50,000

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a strong groundworks and civil engineering business, supporting health and safety across a range of live projects.

This is a hands‑on position suited to someone who is comfortable working closely with site teams and visiting projects regularly. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of health and safety, ensuring projects remain compliant and that best practice is followed across the business.

The Role

• Carrying out regular site inspections and health & safety audits
• Supporting site teams with health & safety requirements and best practice
• Identifying risks and ensuring appropriate control measures are in place
• Assisting with RAMS, toolbox talks and site documentation
• Investigating incidents and supporting corrective actions where required
• Monitoring compliance with company policies and current legislation
• Providing practical health & safety advice across live groundworks and civil engineering projects

About You

• Previous experience in a groundworks, drainage or civil engineering environment
• Strong understanding of construction health & safety requirements
• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
• Confident carrying out site inspections and working with site teams
• Good understanding of RAMS, risk assessments and construction legislation
• United Utilities / water sector experience would be highly beneficial
• Full UK driving licence
