A leading company in infrastructure is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for a redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. The role involves supporting H&S initiatives, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Ideal candidates will have a NEBOSH certificate and experience in the construction sector.
KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor.
Due to the site being a high Security Military Naval base, additional security checks will need to be made – BPSS level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK residence for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for the following:
Supporting the Managers of H&S in the promotion and use of H&S policies and procedures in conjunction with KBJV Policies and Procedures.
Assist the Manager of H&S to lead the development and implementation of Project H&S objectives, campaigns, and initiatives.
When required, produce monthly and yearly H&S performance statistics and reports.
Produce and publish H&S documentation to a high standard.
Work closely with the operational teams in carrying out their roles and H&S responsibilities.
Assist the operational teams in developing Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW).
Support the operational teams in developing and reviewing of SSoW, permits and plans associated with the timely delivery of works.
Conduct regular and robust health and safety Inspections & Audits as prescribed by the Inspection monitoring targets
Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported in a timely manner, and are also effectively investigated, and actions are delivered and closed as per timescales prescribed.
Assist Management teams in the development of health and safety related documents.
Advise and assist in the identification of health and safety training requirements.
Undertake and plan ‘Random’ D&A Testing in accordance with KBJV process, support the project team in conducting ‘For Cause’ D&A testing.
Where required support the induction, training and briefing of project staff.
