Qualifications

  • Working with multiple stakeholders and locations.

  • Full Manual Driving License.

Job description

The Health and Safety Advisor will report to the Regional SHE Manager and will contribute to implementing and monitoring the SHE policies and arrangements. This will involve supporting and collaborating with the project team, internal and external stakeholders, auditing, monitoring and measuring SHE performance, assisting with SHE reports, sharing best practice and coordinating activities within the project team.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and uphold the ethos that safety is paramount
  • Assist in implementing Farrans' internal management system
  • Develop effective working relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance SHE performance
  • Conduct regular audits of site SHE practices and documentation
  • Support incident investigations and ensure compliance with procedures
  • Provide SHE advice during project mobilization and execution phases
  • Deliver SHE-related training and mentoring to staff and supply chain partners
  • Prepare and deliver timely reports and performance data. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes
  • Foster professional relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers to secure engagement and understanding of SHE expectations
Qualifications
  • Proven prior experience in a Construction H&S environment
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite (particularly Excel & Word) and using online project document management portals, such as Deltek PIM (FOCAL), Aconex, etc.
  • Effective working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and construction management best practice
  • Experience of implementing and operating SHEQ management standards and processes
  • Working with multiple stakeholders and locations
  • Level 8 Honors degree / Third level degree qualification in a relevant engineering, construction or SHE discipline. NEBOSH Certificate
  • Full Manual Driving License

About The Team

The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is an alliance of Anglian Water (AW), Farrans, Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB), Costain and Jacobs who are contracted to deliver one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK. It will be achieved by the engineering, integration and assembly of a series of interconnected pipelines which will enable AW to move water from areas with surplus water, to areas which are in deficit, making the east of England resilient to drought and securing water supplies for future generations. Securing the Farrans team in the South East England region from 2021 and through into AMP8.
