The successful candidate will be able to provide advice on low-risk incidents and escalate any foreseen risks to the H&S Business Partners or Head of Health Safety & Fire Safety. The role requires influencing others, including managers, colleagues, and trade union representatives, to develop a best practice working environment. Responsibilities also include investigating safety-related incidents, supporting the production of reports with conclusions and recommendations, and leading the implementation of remedial actions.
You will have achieved at least a National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent). Ideally, you will have around 5 years of H&S experience in a fast-paced operational environment, with a good understanding of culture, challenges, and constraints. Experience in compliance, advice, assurance, and auditing techniques is essential. Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (at a relevant level) is required. It is also preferable to hold or be working towards a National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
