We are looking for an H&S professional with a strong highways and civil background (Highway Maintenance, Road Surfacing, Streetlighting, Road Marking, Traffic Management, Infrastructure, and Civil) to support the HSE Team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Provide H&S compliance advice to the business.
• Undertake H&S compliance audits, incident investigations, and identify and implement effective corrective actions.
• Mentor employees at all levels to ensure safe delivery and improvements to management systems, fostering a positive safety culture.
• Review company risk assessments, compile method statements & procedures, and manage conformity.
• Investigate incidents (accidents, service strikes, near misses) and implement corrective actions. Maintain related statistics.
• Conduct compliance evaluations and maintain the legal register.
• Collaborate with contract managers and supervisors to ensure adherence to H&S policies and procedures across all activities.
• Work with the H&S team and report on QHSE performance to the H&S Manager.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

· Ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, or a minimum NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.

· Previous experience as a Health and Safety Advisor/Manager in a highways/civil environment is essential.

· Good knowledge of CDM and Temporary Works.

· Experience providing sound health and safety advice, drafting safe systems, and implementing controls on civil engineering sites.

· Full UK driving license.
