Job Description

Overview: An established earthworks contractor in the UK is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their Major Projects Team for the HS2 Project in Chipping Warden. This role involves working on significant earthworks projects, including green tunnels, in collaboration with main contractors.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor health and safety policies on site, ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Provide technical advice, conduct site inspections, and produce reports.
• Engage with project teams, contractors, and supply chain to promote safety standards.
• Support investigations of accidents and incidents.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to mitigate risks through design and planning.
• Innovate and improve safety practices continuously.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Heavy Plant sectors with a focus on Health & Safety.
• Desirable: Earthworks or Groundworks experience.
• Knowledge of plant equipment (dump trucks, excavators).
• NEBOSH Construction / General Certificate or equivalent.
• Membership of IOSH.
• CSCS certification.
• Valid Driving Licence.

Salary & Benefits:

£60,000 - £65,000 plus package including car allowance or vehicle, tax-free lodge allowance (where applicable), and other company benefits.
