Job summary

A leading food manufacturer in Kent is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor. This role involves supporting line managers, delivering training, and maintaining the Safety Management System. Ideal candidates will have a NEBOSH Certificate, strong regulatory knowledge, and relevant experience. This position offers a salary of £45,000 - £50,000 plus bonus.

Overview

The Role

The successful Health & Safety Advisor will:

• Support line managers with risk assessments, work instructions, and safety documentation sign-offs
• Deliver team briefings, toolbox talks, and in-house safety training to drive awareness and compliance
• Lead regular site inspections, audits, and accident investigations, using findings to drive improvements
• Maintain and develop the company Safety Management System in line with ISO 45001 standards
• Manage contractor safety, including inductions, documentation, and coordination of site works
• Contribute to the site’s environmental programme and aspect/impact assessments
• Stay current with health & safety legislation and communicate updates across the business
• Deputise for the Health, Safety & Facilities Manager and represent H&S in key meetings.

The Candidate

The successful Health & Safety Advisor will have:

• A NEBOSH Certificate.
• Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulatory and legal framework.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Auditing experience.
• Experience in delivering face to face training.
