Job description

Health & Safety Advisor - Food Production & Storage Facility
Derby
£55-65k

This hugely successful and rapidly growing main contractor is further expanding its UK operation and is looking to add a number of experienced Health & Safety specialists. This role requires someone with experience in the construction and fit-out of projects such as industrial units, warehouses, logistics & distribution centres.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Meetings (both management & personnel as appropriate)
  2. Training workshops
  3. Daily Activity Briefings and HRAs
  4. HRA Inspections and observations
  5. Development of EHS initiatives and campaigns
  6. Reviewing data integrity and confirming weekly and monthly statistics accuracy
  7. Monitoring compliance between EHS planning and actual works on site
  8. Assessing compliance with agreed KPIs across all project stages
  9. Communications of EHS at all levels
  10. Co-ordination of work activities on the sites
  11. Identification, assessment, and evaluation of high-risk activities
  12. Training and education
  13. Reviews of Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), safe plans of action, lifting plans, etc.
  14. Competency of contractors and operatives

Minimum requirements for consideration:

  1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction EHS.
  2. Extensive experience in contractor communications, and liaising with project management teams and other project professionals.
  3. Formal qualification in EHS management (minimum EQF level 6).
  4. Relevant Health & Safety Membership of a recognised organisation (e.g. the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH); preferably at chartered status or recognised equivalent).
