Overview

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to help foster a positive safety and environmental culture across our Highways, Road Tunnels, and Rail operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, forward-thinking engineering business and make a real impact supporting safe and compliant delivery across our projects.

You will support the implementation of health, safety and environmental policies, assist with audits (ISO 9001, HERS, Sector 8), contribute to ISO 14001 accreditation, review risk assessments, and help investigate incidents. You'll also promote safety awareness through training, toolbox talks and engagement with our teams, providing practical advice to ensure safety remains at the heart of everything we do.

About You
  • Proven Health & Safety (or SHE/HSE) experience within construction or engineering (highways or rail desirable)
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, with environmental qualification preferred (IOSH/IEMA membership desirable)
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and support colleagues at all levels
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Swinton, Dartford and project sites (occasional weekend or night work may be required)
