The Opportunity

To support our continued growth and uphold our safety commitments, we are recruiting a Health and Safety Advisor. This is a key role responsible for providing hands-on H&S support across build sites, home installations, and network maintenance operations.

This is a field-based position (80% site, 20% office) where you'll work closely with site teams, supervisors, and management to ensure compliance, promote a positive safety culture, and respond proactively to issues and incidents.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct a minimum of 4 site audits per day across regional operations

Complete clear, concise reports and ensure timely close-out of non-conformance reports (NCRs)

Identify unsafe practices, recurring issues, and near misses, implementing corrective actions

Deliver toolbox talks, daily briefings, and project-specific safety training

Participate in incident investigations with accurate root cause analysis and learning outcomes

Review and assist with RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)

Maintain compliance registers for training, incidents, and equipment

Monitor and advise on adherence to CDM Regulations and internal H&S policies

Ensure completion of QA checks before site handovers

Support SHEQ administration, including documentation on Zoho

Requirements

NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH Construction preferred)

Proven H&S experience in telecoms, utilities, or construction

Working knowledge of Civils, Streetworks, and Working at Height practices

Strong understanding of UK H&S legislation

Excellent communication and reporting skills

Proactive, practical mindset with the ability to work independently

Full UK driving license
