Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Knockbracken Healthcare Park, BT88BH
Hours: Full-Time
Pay: £19.10 per hour
Contract: Temporary
Are you passionate about creating a safe and compliant working environment within healthcare? We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join a dynamic governance and risk team. This is your chance to help shape health & safety best practice in a critical frontline organisation, ensuring safety, compliance and operational efficiency across the Trust.
What You’ll Do:
As part of the Trust’s Risk Management Team, you will:
- Provide specialist advice on all aspects of health & safety to Directors, managers, and staff.
- Lead on the implementation of health and safety legislation, risk assessments and incident reporting.
- Support the development, communication and implementation of H&S policies and procedures.
- Liaise with HSENI and statutory bodies as necessary and ensure RIDDOR compliance.
- Coordinate and manage the Trust’s Face Fit Testing Programme for respiratory protective equipment across multiple sites.
- Create and manage a panel of fit testers, ensuring ongoing training, resources and stock.
- Develop and maintain robust data reporting systems for fit testing and health & safety audits.
- Deliver training sessions and contribute to health & safety improvement plans.
- Build relationships with internal teams and external agencies (HSENI, PHA, HSCB, etc.).
Essential Criteria:
- Degree and NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- Or 3+ years’ experience as an H&S Advisor and NEBOSH-certified
- Working towards or current IOSH membership
- Experience managing multi-site safety processes and developing admin systems
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Key Skills Required:
- Excellent communication and training delivery
- Strong understanding of H&S legislation in healthcare or public sector
- Ability to work independently and manage high workloads under pressure
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Strong organisation and problem-solving ability
