Job description

Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, the Health and Safety Advisor will provide support and guidance to the project team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Promoting our health and safety ethos and culture at all levels within the Company and with our Subcontractors.
• Ensuring working practices are safe and comply with relevant legislation.
• Reviewing Subcontractor documentation including safe systems of works.
• Assisting in the preparation of health and safety strategies and in the development of internal policies and procedures.
• Leading and delivering health & safety initiatives.
• Assisting in the in-house training of managers and employees.
• Carrying out regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being fully implemented.
• Carrying out accident / incident investigations.

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will possess the following essential qualities:

• Be professionally qualified within the Health and Safety field (NEBOSH/NCRQ, BSc or MSc in Safety).
• Have a proven track record as an operational Health and Safety Advisor within the Construction industry.
• Have thorough knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.
• Have accident and incident investigation experience.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Be able to work as part of a team and to positively influence others.
• Be IT literate.
• Hold a CSCS Card.
