Job summary

A public sector client in Northern Ireland is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support their Direct Labour Organisation. This role involves conducting workplace inspections, developing training, and providing health and safety advice. The ideal candidate must have NEBOSH certification and at least 3 years of experience in a relevant field. This opportunity allows you to contribute to workplace safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a construction, engineering, or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of current health & safety legislation.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Are you a Health & Safety professional with experience in a construction or engineering environment? Our public sector client is seeking a highly motivated Health & Safety Advisor to support their Direct Labour Organisation (DLO). This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that has real impact on the safety and wellbeing of workers and the wider community.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct workplace health & safety inspections and audits
  • Develop, deliver, and review H&S training aligned with legislative updates
  • Support risk assessments across various domains including COSHH, DSE, noise, manual handling, and more
  • Monitor and report on compliance using performance indicators and internal systems
  • Investigate incidents, compile reports, and recommend preventative measures
  • Represent the H&S function in meetings and liaise with trade unions
  • Provide day-to-day health & safety advice to staff and management
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (Level 3) essential
