Our Fit-Out Client based in Antrim, Northern Ireland, is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full-time, permanent role in NI with occasional travel across projects in the UK. The client is offering a salary between £45,000 - £60,000 per year, depending on experience.

The purpose of the role is to help manage Health and Safety along with the HSQE and Site teams, ensuring all persons on site comply with their Safe Systems of Work and relevant legislation, and that safety policies are adopted and adhered to.

Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health
  2. Carry out regular risk assessments
  3. Outline safe operational procedures considering all relevant hazards
  4. Identify and implement risk reduction measures
  5. Ensure all working practices comply with legislation
  6. Conduct safety inspections, fire drills, and manage safety reports and risk assessments
  7. Perform new start inductions for new personnel
  8. Ensure statutory health, safety, and welfare obligations are met
  9. Stay updated with new legislation and industry developments
  10. Ensure safe installation of equipment
  11. Record incidents and produce management reports
  12. Participate in safety meetings and liaise with external authorities
  13. Verify personnel certifications for site access
  14. Establish documented safety inspections, audits, and checks
  15. Manage disposal of hazardous substances, e.g., asbestos
  16. Advise on fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, and machinery
  17. Procure PPE and safety equipment
  18. Review and communicate H&S policies and procedures regularly
  19. Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
  1. Essential: CSCS/CSR Card, NEBOSH Certificate, excellent IT skills (especially Microsoft Office), relevant construction/fit-out health and safety experience, effective communication skills, experience with H&S investigations, high attention to detail, proactive, adaptable, and continual improvement mindset.
  2. Desirable: TWC Training, Grad IOSH.
