Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join the Health Records Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.

You will be responsible for providing a full portering service within the Health Records Department in addition to some clerical work. The main focus of the role will be to undertake safe and confidential delivery and retrieval of Health Records around the Trust on a daily basis, as well as preparation of clinic notes for outpatient appointments. Training in other areas of the department will be provided to support the whole Health Records service.

Computer literacy and experience in the accurate inputting of data is an essential requirement for this post as are organisational skills. A methodical way of working and a keen eye for detail is crucial to this role. Being flexible and adaptable to change is crucial to this particular role. Training on in-house information systems will be provided.

The main focus of this role is to transport large volumes of patient records to various outpatient areas, wards and departments, as well as supporting the Clinic Prep team in the preparation of case notes for outpatient clinics and admissions.

Responsibilities
  • The post holder will be required to transport large volumes of patient records around the hospital.
  • Safe and timely delivery of Health Records to various outpatient areas and wards.
  • Tracking and filing of Health Records / housekeeping of library.
  • Receiving, monitoring and delivery of ad hoc urgent requests to various areas around site.
  • Pull, retrieve and prepare all case notes for out-patient clinics and admissions.
  • Ensure the Trust standard required for the quality of the health records is maintained.
  • Re-file the notes, whilst maintaining the libraries.
Safeguarding and DBS

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. If successful, this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £26.90, deducted from the first Trust salary. In addition, it will be a condition of employment to join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
