Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with well-established nuclear engineering and processing business in their search for a Health Physics Monitor, based full-time on site in Cheshire.

Responsibilities and duties of the Health Physics Monitor role

Reporting to the Health Physics Team Leader you will:

* Carry out routine and non-routine radiological monitoring and contamination surveys.

* Assist in the implementation of radiological protection measures and controls.

* Operate and maintain radiation monitoring equipment.

* Support investigations into radiological incidents or alarms.

* Record and report monitoring data in accordance with regulatory and site-specific requirements.

* Provide front-line support to operational staff regarding radiological safety and best practice.

* Participate in emergency response drills and actual events as required.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

* Details Relevant qualifications or experience in radiation protection or health physics monitoring

* Strong understanding of radiological safety principles and regulations

Personal skills

The Health Physics Monitor role would suit someone who has:

* Good communication skills and a proactive approach to safety.
