Job description

Consilium Recruit are proudly supporting and partnering with the National Nuclear Laboratory to recruit multiple Health Physics Monitors. Working in the Safety, Security & Safeguards team, you will support this prestigious organisation to use nuclear energy and nuclear science to benefit society. The roles are based on site at Windscale, Sellafield in Cumbria.


Commutable from: Sellafield, Workington, Cockermouth, Broughton in Furness, Barrow in Furness, Keswick


Salary: to circa £38,000 p.a. plus an exceptional suite of benefits including:

The Role

The Health Physics Monitor will provide advice and guidance in relation to radiological protection, producing surveys, reports, and presentations of data findings.

You will collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure best practice in terms of health, safety and environmental requirements and play an active role in ensuring that the steps taken follow both NNL's framework and the wider regulatory frameworks in place.

The Health Physics Monitor will support root cause analysis of issues and that the required follow-up procedures are delivered and documented.

This is a permanent role based onsite at Sellafield Windscale site.


The Person

The successful candidates for the Health Physics Monitor roles will possess either a City & Guilds Level 1 in Radiation Protection or the NVQ Level in Radiation Protection certification.

You will be required to have previous experience in health physics monitoring in a nuclear facility and good knowledge of the required regulations and H&S frameworks.

You will have the ability to obtain SC level security clearance and be able to work in a flexible and collaborative way with the safety team and associated stakeholders.
