Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, engaging and innovative healthcare professional to support our Healthy Hospital programme within Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust (BDCFT).

The NHS Long Term Plan commits that all people admitted to hospital who smoke will be offered NHS-funded tobacco treatment services as well as other healthy lifestyle support. BDCFT is committed to reducing the impact of smoking related illnesses on people with serious mental illness. The postholder will support the Health Improvement Manager in delivering the in-house Tobacco Dependency Service and work towards improving the physical health offer to all inpatients in areas such as oral health, reducing alcohol intake, increasing physical activity and health screening programmes.

Closing date 21 October 2025. Shortlisting 22 October 2025. Interview w/c 27 October 2025 (TBC).

This Will Involve
  • Delivery of training, coaching and supervision to healthcare professionals and health and wellbeing coaches within the inpatient areas
  • Promote, develop, monitor, and evaluate the opt-out Tobacco Dependency Service
  • Provide specialist advice to patients, staff, relatives, and carer

This post is open to any registered healthcare professional and the successful post holder will work in a multidisciplinary team comprised of nurses, doctors, pharmacy staff, psychologists, AHPs, support workers and other staff to implement smoke-free environments.
