Health Equalities Group (HEG) is a public health charity working to improve the wellbeing of communities across the UK. They are an independent voice for preventative public health in the North-West and beyond. They believe everyone deserves to live a long, healthy, and happy life. Currently, not everyone has this opportunity. That’s why they collaborate with local authorities, charities, the NHS, and central government to improve conditions that affect many communities.
HEG delivers Food Active, a programme promoting healthier weights and supporting local authority public health teams in North West England. They also run additional projects addressing obesity and non-communicable diseases for national and regional organisations, including NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Boards, the Office for Health Improvement & Disparities, Cancer Alliances, sports organisations, and third sector organisations.
Due to the charity's growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic team supporting Food Active’s North West Network. The role involves liaising with partners across local authorities, NHS organisations, the third sector, and research institutions.
The position may also support wider HEG projects addressing non-communicable diseases and health inequalities. We seek an enthusiastic project officer with some experience in public health or healthcare, aspiring to develop a career in preventative public health. The candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organisational and time management abilities, and experience supporting project administration, preferably in a public health or healthcare setting.
