Job summary

The University of Manchester is inviting applications for a Research Associate in economics/health economics to join the HOPE group within NIHR PRUComm. The role focuses on designing and conducting health economic research, leveraging micro-econometric analyses and complex datasets.

You will collaborate with NHS and Department of Health and Social Care stakeholders and contribute to policy-relevant outputs.

Qualifications

Excellent undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Economics or related quantitative discipline.
Excellent Masters degree (or equivalent) in Economics or Health Economics, with a substantial econometrics component.
Experience of applying micro-econometric techniques.
Experience of managing and analysing complex data sets.
Clear oral and written presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with both academic and policy audiences.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the design, conduct and analysis of novel research as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Identify and critically appraise relevant academic and policy literature.
Source, collate and clean a range of administrative and survey data on health and care spending, utilisation, and outcomes.
Design and undertake micro-econometric analyses.
Develop networks and productive working relationships with key stakeholders within the NHS and Department of Health and Social Care.
