NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a part-time Band 2 Health Care Support Worker for Ward 3, offering support in a post-operative surgical environment. This dynamic role requires strong numeracy and literacy skills along with clinical experience. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality patient care.

This post takes part in a rota which covers 24 hours from Monday to Friday, however this is subject to change.

An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Band 2 Health Care Support Worker to work within Ward 3, a 23 hour stay, 12 bedded post op surgical ward, which is part of the Day Surgery Unit at the New Victoria Hospital. This is a dynamic surgical clinical area with a high turnover of patients. As a Band 2 and part of the multidisciplinary team it is essential that you have good numeracy /literacy skills and experience working with members of the public. Previous experience of working in a clinical environment is essential. Candidates should have a flexible committed approach and work to a high standard within the multidisciplinary team. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team and will take a sensitive and caring approach to people. You are required to demonstrate flexibility within your working week and within the south sector. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi- site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service. Once established in the role, and have achieved new skills e.g. competency in NEWS2 scoring etc, there is potential for the candidate to move onto the band 3 pay scale. However, demonstration of skills and competence must first be demonstrated.
**Please note that during the winter months, the ward accommodates Older Patient Service (OPS) patient boarders.
