JOIN OUR SPECIALIST STROKE AND NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION UNIT!
We are looking to recruit compassionate, highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills to join our patient centred supportive specialist Stroke and Neuro rehabilitation unit.
Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is committed to delivering a safe, fast and effective acute stroke service with the support of the Bradford Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust who will provide initial hyper acute assessment, treatment and stroke care. Ward 5 is a 24 bedded specialist unit to provide seamless, evidence based, multidisciplinary care within the most appropriate care setting to individuals who have had a stroke and other neurological needs. Support and guidance will include care givers so as to optimise the clinical outcome and care experience for both patient and carers.
Our motivated hardworking nursing team work together with specialist therapy team to provide safe, caring and supportive environment to achieve rehabilitation goals. We provide unit specific induction programme and regular ward based training sessions to maintain our high standards of quality, safety and patient experience.
Assist with the service of meals and support patients who may needassistance with eating and drinking in line with their plan of care.o Assist with the safe moving, handling and mobilisation of patientsensuring that care plans are followed to minimise risk.o Communicate effectively with kindness, warmth and compassionrecognising when there are barriers to communication wheresupport may be required.o Act as a patient and staff advocate, escalating concerns andchallenging poor behaviour or practice appropriately.o Maintain accurate records of care within area of responsibility.o Observe and report any changes in a patient's condition to theNurse in Charge.o Involve patients and carers/relatives in delivery of care.o Provide reassurance and support to patients, carers/family.o Support the maintenance and cleanliness of the clinical environmentby attending to general tidiness of the area including unpacking andstorage of stock deliveries. Report any estates issues appropriately.o Support clinical teams to fulfil cleaning responsibilities as identifiedin the National Cleaning Standards framework.
