Barts Trust is looking to recruit a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 who will workin ward 10E at Royal London hospital. This post is open to individuals who are both experienced Healthcare Support Workers or those new to care.

Individuals that are new to care will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within six months upon successful completion of all required competencies.

We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a hospital setting. The role involves undertaking a range of delegated clinical tasks, such as:

Assisting with personal care and mobility

Supporting patients’ nutritional and hydration needs

Undertaking limited range of delegated duties (e.g. taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening)

Simple wound dressings

Strong teamworking and communication skills are essential to ensure the comfort, wellbeing, and safety of our patients.

An excellent communicator, they have experience of working in a team, to ensure the comfort, wellbeing and safety of our patients.

The post holder will work within 10E (Vascular Ward): Is dedicated beds for the management and care of vascular patients. This will involve close MDT working for patients requiring urgent and emergency vascular procedures.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Healthcare Support Worker will be an integral part of the ward/department team actively taking part in meeting the needs of patients and of the service in accordance with agreed standards under direct supervision of the registered nurses, nurse associates and midwives. The post holder will develop essential competencies though training and practice to ensure safety and quality are the priority.
