Job description

Job purpose:To actively participate in the delivery of patient care as a non-registered nurse in the multidisciplinary team within the service area.

Scope:The post holder will be required to work flexibly within all clinics across several sitescovering ENT, Ultrasound, Minor Surgery and Endoscopy. This will include working withindifferent teams and environments, locations on a regular basis.The post holder will actively deliver patient care alongside Consultants, GPs andSonographers.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties/Responsibilities

CLINICAL

Demonstrate delivery of a high standard of care.

Ensure patient is involved in decision-making regarding their care.

Demonstrate the ability to perform specific clinical tasks required within the service,for which they are competent.

Accurately record relevant information in appropriate format.

Communicate with all members of the clinical and administrative teams in aprofessional manner and be able to convey relevant information to and receivefeedback from same.

Respects the privacy and dignity of patients and other staff at all times.

Moving and transport equipment while ensuring all moving and handling guidelinesare adhered to.ORGANISATIONAL

Practice and promotes confidentiality at all times.

Demonstrate adherence to all BMSG policies and procedures.

Demonstrates economy in use of resources.

Demonstrates an awareness of stock control systems and how they should beused.

Take responsibility for the care of all equipment used and ensure any defects arereported.

Demonstrates understanding of adherence to local and National Health and Safetypolicies and procedures.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

Undertake all mandatory training as required for the role.

Actively participates in the in-service opportunities available.SERVICE DELIVERY

Actively contribute to the provision of high standards of care for all patients.

Demonstrate positive attitude to suggested changes in practice through theintroduction of evidence-based practice

Qualifications
