We are currently looking to recruit a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker in Hafod Y Wennol. We seek a dynamic, highly motivated individual with experience working with people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, behaviours which challenge, complex health needs, and often a forensic history. Previous experience in a similar setting and knowledge of implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) are beneficial. Hafod Y Wennol is an assessment and treatment unit providing care to individuals with acute mental health or behavioural needs. The role involves working alongside a multidisciplinary team to assess and implement treatment plans to facilitate individuals' return to their community.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude towards supporting individuals with challenging behaviour, and experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities include assisting in the provision of personal and healthcare, contributing to treatment plans, supporting access to meaningful activities, and recognizing early warning signs requiring intervention. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to developing their skills.

You will deliver safe, high-quality, compassionate care following individualised care plans and treatment interventions determined by the Registered Practitioner. This includes supporting patients with daily living activities and providing feedback on their progress. Effective communication with patients, relatives, and carers is essential, including with those with sensory impairments or speech and language difficulties. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not required; both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged to apply.
