Job summary

Sunderland College is seeking a Lecturer and Programme Lead - Health in Sunderland. This permanent, part-time role (22.5 hours per week) offers an opportunity to lead health programmes and inspire the next generation of health and care professionals.

You will bring industry knowledge, engage learners, and help students develop practical skills for progression into employment or further study. A relevant degree and teaching qualification are preferred, with support to develop teaching skills.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a health, healthcare, nursing, social care or related subject.
• Relevant professional qualification/registration appropriate to their area of healthcare practice, where applicable.
• Teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards an appropriate teaching qualification.
• Relevant experience working within the health or care sector, with up-to-date knowledge of professional practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging teaching across a range of Health and Social Care programmes.
• Bring current industry knowledge into the classroom and make learning relevant to healthcare settings.
• Develop practical learning experiences using Health Hub and immersive facilities.
• Support students to develop practical, technical and professional skills for progression.
• Create an inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.
• Monitor student progress, attendance and achievement, providing appropriate support and intervention.
