Somerset Care Limited in Exeter is recruiting Health Care Assistants to support qualified professionals and residents with personal care tasks. You will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to deliver planned care and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• At least 3 months experience as a Healthcare Assistant.
• Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks.
• Familiarity with needs of disabled or vulnerable individuals.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, under pressure and to deadlines.
• Ability to liaise with clients' families and significant persons.
• Ability to read care documentation and record events clearly.
• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
• Sense of humour and friendly nature.
• Ability to solve problems and interact considerately with diverse people.
• Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and equality.

Responsibilities

• Participate in delivery of planned nursing and personal care under supervision.
• Be aware of residents' emotional, social and physical needs and report changes.
• Provide information to evaluate care effectiveness and maintain records.
• Record care delivered contemporaneously in relevant documentation.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.
• Collaborate with nurses and other staff to meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines.
