Job description

Surrey Downs Health & Care

Mary Seacole is a new integrated unit providing care and rehabilitation to promote health, maximise independence, and improve quality of life. All patients are treated with dignity and respect, involved in decisions at all stages of their treatment and care, and the team strives to achieve what matters most to the patients.

We are looking for dynamic, passionate, and motivated health care assistants willing to expand and develop their skills and knowledge while supporting patients and the team.

The team work shift patterns, including long days and night shifts.

You will work under the direct supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse to support and assist senior team members in providing high-quality care and promoting physical, mental, and emotional health to individuals and client groups.

As an effective member of the Multidisciplinary Team, you will carry out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of the senior team member. You are responsible for your own practice, working within your competence and scope of role. The registered nurse retains accountability for the care delivered by the HCA.

Surrey Downs Health and Care deliver care closer to people's communities through Primary Care Networks, Community Hospitals, Specialist Services, and partnerships with local NHS organizations.

Surrey Downs Health and Care has a track record of providing person-centered care that goes beyond organizational boundaries to do what is best for the individual. Our partnership includes GP federations (GP Health Partners, Dorking Health Care, and Surrey Medical Network), CSH Surrey, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust, and Surrey County Council.

Historically, boundary lines between organizations providing care in homes, GP surgeries, and hospitals have existed, but our unified mission is to provide excellent care to those who need it.

Our goal is to ensure local people receive the care they need in the right environment. By combining our expertise, we aim to improve patient care and facilitate easier access to support, care, and treatment.

We work towards shared values that translate into better care for our residents.
