Job Summary

We are looking to recruit a healthcare assistant to join our Adult Community Nursing Service in Oldham. The role will be to support the delivery of essential District Nursing services in Oldham, assisting registered nurses to provide high-quality care to patients in their own homes and other community settings.

Main duties of the job
  1. To provide care to patients, their families, and carers, carrying out delegated clinical and therapeutic tasks, promoting physical, mental, and emotional health in individuals and client groups in their own homes or designated treatment rooms.
  2. To work effectively as a member of the Adult Community Nursing Team.

Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or a Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
  • Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
  • Care Certificate
Knowledge, Training & Experience
  • Experience as a Care Support Worker or similar in a health or social care setting
  • Experience working within a team

Desirable skills include supporting healthcare staff and learners, and commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).

Skills & Abilities
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Basic IT skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to travel across the Trust footprint as needed

Desirable: Full UK driving license and willingness to use own vehicle for work.
