A rural GP training practice is seeking a Health Care Assistant to support its clinical team. The role involves delivering care, performing phlebotomy, overseeing laboratory sample processing, and promoting patient health. Suitable candidates should have GCSEs in English and Maths, qualifications in Phlebotomy, and a diploma or NVQ in Health and Social Care. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated healthcare team in delivering excellent patient care.
The Health Care Assistant plays an integral role within the Practice Nurse Team, as well as supporting the wider clinical teams, in the delivery of nursing services. They work as part of the Practice's multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice, to our patient population. The Health Care Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff with the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.
The main duties of the Health Care Assistant will include phlebotomy, assessing and monitoring patients with long-term conditions and promoting general health and well-being. They will oversee the processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses and vaccinate as part of the yearly flu vaccination programme.
Townhead Surgery is a busy rural GP Training Practice. We are a dispensing practice, with a list size of 9,500 patients. The Clinical team includes GPs, an ANP, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Physiotherapist, Mental Health Coach and Practitioner and Social Prescribers, who are all supported by a comprehensive administrative team. We strive to promote excellent patient care and are forward thinking, being proactive in screening and promoting clinical care to our patients. We are a friendly team, looking to recruit a Health Care Assistant to working alongside our caring, hardworking team.
Additional duties may be assigned as required, and training will be provided for current or additional duties and responsibilities.
