Main duties of the HCA/Care Assistants (Temporary):
- Assist in providing practical and personal support to enable service users to have more control over their lives and meet their assessed needs by maintaining and promoting their health, wellbeing, and social development.
- Support service users in activities that promote development, increase independence, and maximize community inclusion as per their care plans.
- Help service users make informed choices and experience new activities within a risk-managed framework.
- Support the provision of high standards of support, ensuring a homely environment and addressing challenging behaviors.
- Assist service users in attending social, leisure activities, community outings, and appointments.
- Support service users with daily activities such as washing, dressing, feeding, administering medication, respecting their culture and dignity.
- Assist in meeting outcomes outlined in person-centered and care plans.
- Help with household tasks including cooking, shopping, cleaning, gardening, laundry, and ironing.
- Participate in maintaining high domestic standards, including hygiene and providing balanced, culturally appropriate meals.
- Support service users in monitoring their health and wellbeing.
- Care for service users’ property, finances, and personal effects, maintaining accurate records.
About you
Our strength lies in the quality of our care and the people we employ to deliver it. Key qualities include:
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential; willingness to undertake the qualification is appreciated.
- Inspired to support individuals with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, or additional needs.
- Motivated to make a positive difference in the lives of people in care.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to undertake training if required.
