Job description

We are looking to recruit a motivated, caring, and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our friendly and supportive nursing team.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job, including clinical skills such as:

  1. Blood pressure measurement
  2. Pulse rate and rhythm assessment
  3. Temperature measurement
  4. Height, weight, and body mass index calculation
  5. Venepuncture
  6. ECG
  7. Stitch removal
  8. Shingles and pneumonia vaccinations
  9. Assist in minor surgery and coil clinics
  10. Chronic disease health checks
  11. INR clinic duties
  12. Adult and child flu vaccinations

Job responsibilities

The post holder will work under the indirect supervision of the practice nurse team leader, practice nurses, and GPs, undertaking tasks delegated by the team leader. They will collaborate with the general practice team to meet patients' needs, following policies, protocols, and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be confident, professional, and compassionate at all times. Computer literacy, GCSE grades A-C in English and Maths. HCA Certificate.
  • Qualified in phlebotomy.
  • Care Certificate.
  • Knowledge of EMIS Web and general practice, understanding of clinical coding.
