Job description

The Healthcare Assistant will support the clinical team in delivering services, providing nursing care as a skilled member of the Minor Operations Team, and carrying out associated administrative work. The role will involve both clinical and administrative duties.

Responsibilities:
  1. Work as a member of the Minor Operations team to ensure the smooth delivery of services to patients, including preparation and maintenance of minor ops room standards, patient care during surgery, post-operative patient information, suture removal, and providing general clinical advice to patients and colleagues.
  2. Participate in pre- and post-procedure activities, including minor surgery assessments and follow-up appointments within the patient pathway.
  3. Maintain a safe working environment for patients, visitors, and staff, with reference to infection control and health and safety protocols.
  4. Ensure all rooms used are left clean and tidy, with waste disposed of correctly.
  5. Collaborate with the Senior Nurse and Service Manager to complete administrative tasks and ensure the availability of drugs, supplies, and equipment.
  6. Timely collation and distribution of consumables for satellite clinics.
  7. Assist in processing patient test results, managing post-operative inquiries, and supporting the patient booking process.
