Job Title: Health Care Assistant

London Bridge Healthcare is part of Richmond Pharmacology and is a new state of the art private outpatient medical clinic based near London Bridge station. Our team specialise in a variety of medical services including Varicose Vein Treatment - Radiofrequency Ablation, Coronary Health Checks, Gynaecology, Dermatology and hand and wrist pain.

The Role

We are seeking experienced Health Care Assistants to join our bank team. This will include assisting consultants with pre-surgical and post-surgical patient care assessments, wound management, measuring of observations, ECGs, along with providing effective support to the clinicians and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration rates, and report any changes to medical staff
  • Maintain appropriate medical records to ensure continuity and quality of care for patients
  • Undertake venous bloods as required
  • Maintain skills at the current level and undertake such training and development as may from time to time be required to maintain personal competency
  • Help with basic health care tasks such as changing dressings, and collecting samples for testing
  • Assist with updating patient records, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients
  • Maintain continued education by attending relevant courses and study days as deemed useful or necessary for professional development
  • Assist with the efficient running of the theatre, clinical rooms and equipment
  • Carry out health care assistant duties in line with requirements for the day
  • Participate in activities required to assess compliance with CQC essential standards
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all consultations and treatments in the patient’s notes, both written and computerised
  • Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient’s health care and registration with the clinic
  • Attend and participate in the clinic and staff meetings as appropriate
  • Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerned with patient care and with other disciplines within the clinic, with appropriate regard to confidentiality
  • Ensure the maintenance of equipment and stock levels relating to patient care alongside nursing colleagues and the Clinical Services Manager
  • Set up and take down medical equipment as required, ensuring that supplies are replenished
  • Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality at all times, in line with current legislation
  • Maintain an accurate and efficient appointment system
  • Ensure all patient information is accurate, easily accessible and kept up to date
  • Participate in the assessment of the effectiveness of health care provided by the clinic
  • Inform the Clinical Services Manager or Head of Private Healthcare of any reported or suspected failings in the provision of care within the clinic
  • Participate in taking care of your own health and safety. Staff must not do anything to compromise the health and safety of either their colleagues or themselves. Staff should also be aware of the responsibilities placed in them by legislation to ensure health and safety procedures are followed. This will help to maintain a safe workplace for all.

  • Promote and participate in a high standard of care within the clinic

Qualifications and Experience
  • 2-3 years of Health Care Assistant role
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Previous outpatient experience in supporting vascular, coronary health checks, gynaecology, dermatology
  • Up to date mandatory training records

Schedule: Day Shift - Monday - Friday
