A health service provider in the Borough of Rossendale is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant. The role involves undertaking clinical duties, assisting with patient care, and contributing to reception duties. Successful candidates will have an NVQ Level 3 in Health Care or equivalent and relevant experience. Competitive pay, NHS benefits, and continuous training opportunities will be provided.

We are looking for an ethusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join us at the Rossendale Minor Injuries Unit. The service operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Hours: 9 hours per average. 4 week rolling rota. Bank Shifts alsoavailable.
Pay: £12.80 perhour. We provide enhancementsfor Saturdays / Sundays and
BankHolidays.
The post holder will undertake a range ofclinical duties including venepuncture, ECGs, wound care, observations, andapplying plaster of paris to patients with fractures and personal care topatients.
The post holder will also contribute toadministrative, reception/floorwalker and housekeeping duties within theservice location. This vacancy comeswith a degree of receptionist cover.

Post holder will ensureprompt reporting of any relevant information regarding patients includingobservation of progress or deterioration in the patients condition to thetrained staff
Endeavour to maintaingood standards of communication both in written and oral form
Make entries onpatient records to record clinical interventions
Make entries in theclinical notes using the service areas computer programmes ADASTRA
Communicate withpatients and carers in a polite and pleasant manner
Receive and deliverpatient related information to and from other departments via the telephone/emails
Acknowledge andaccommodate barriers to communication and understanding including speech,hearing, language, and emotion
May be required toencourage patients to comply with programmes of care
Initiate emergencyaction when required
Obtain and dispatchspecimens on request
Undertake routine administrationand reception
Assist patients inanswering our streaming and redirection tool
Assist in theordering and supplying of materials and equipment e.g. stores afterauthorisation by the reception team leader
Inform the LeadClinician on shift of any untoward incidents
Take responsibilityfor the cleaning and stocking of clinical areas
Dispose of clinicalwaste in a safe manner for each clinical room
Contribute toinfection control measures by adhering to infection control policies/procedures

Be fully conversantin all the clinical computer systems used within Morecambe Urgent TreatmentCentre
Attend relevantstudy/induction days, seminars, courses etc. for individual development and forthe benefit of the service. Keepup to date with compliance and mandatory training.
