Based in a purpose-built surgery at Canalside Health Care Centre.

Training Practice for GP Registrars, FY2 Doctors, VTS nurses, and medical students.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our Practice team. We are a forward-thinking and innovative Practice. You will be led and supported by our lead Practice Nurse.

You will engage in a variety of roles, primarily based around core general practice nursing. This will provide an opportunity to deliver high-quality care to our patients.

Job responsibilities

The primary roles of this position are:

  • Undertake new patient and NHS checks, emphasizing the importance of health promotion.
  • ECG recording and 24-hour BP monitoring.
  • Undertake wound care and dressings.
  • Perform spirometry tests (interpretations will be undertaken by a nurse).
  • Support the management of chronic disease clinics, such as CVD, diabetic health check reviews, dementia, and SMI reviews.
  • Support the operational running of the nursing team, e.g., vaccine cold storage, fridge monitoring and recording, chaperoning, room stocking, checking emergency drugs/bags, processing laboratory samples.
