University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust invites applications for an HCSW Level 3 Apprenticeship, with a cohort starting January 2027. This 24-month training course is delivered with a local provider, and interviews will be held in November 2026.

You will be supported with study time and release for training, on a rota that includes days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. The programme starts at Band 2 with a salary of £25,760 per annum and offers progression to Band 3 upon successful

Qualifications

• Educated to Maths & English or equivalent demonstrable experience
• Demonstrate an awareness of healthcare work and policies and procedures
• Committed to providing high quality patient care

Responsabilités

• Obtain consent prior to giving care in accordance with Trust policies
• Competently undertake delegated duties in line with patient care plans
• Carry out a range of (limited) clinical duties with minimal supervision (e.g., blood pressure, vitals, urine/faecal/sputum samples)
• Participate in patient assessment and escalate concerns as needed
• Practice safe standards of care following Trust guidelines and policies
• Maintain infection prevention and patient safety standards
• Utilise skills to promote self-care and independence for patients
• Promote health education aligned with national/local policies
• Maintain records and communicate with patients, relatives, and the MDT
• Ensure equipment and stores are well maintained and requisition supplies
• Work effectively as part of a team
• Input information into electronic and written records and comply with confidentiality policies
